RACE Updates will
be posted here (California time zone)
12/06 - @ 10:00am
Car #72 through two belts, one was powering the dry sump oil pump. With no oil the engine begain to tighten up... to the point of not rotating anymore. This is more sad news as #72 has now been retired from the race.
12/06 - @ 5:30am
Poor Arnold #70 suffered more injuries (alternator, power steering, drive shaft …) with that said at lap number 444 we pulled him from the race. Should have a more in depth update soon.
12/05 - @ 9:30pm
You may have noticed #70 dropping back in the laps. This was caused by a leaking power stearing line. At this time Arnold #70 is in the garage being repaired. Not to worry our drivers will move us back up to the top : )
12/05 - @ 4:30pm
We are currently in third place (#70) and the car is running GREAT! Fuel consumption has been incredible as we pulled 1:40 minutes out of one tank. We did have a couple one minute stop and go penalties. The officials told us that we passed under caution. Neither of our drivers ever saw a corner worker off in the distance with a yellow flag. We will make the time back with a great pit stop : ) We also experienced a major loss in power due to a collapsed fuel filter. The crew put the power back in the car with a quick pit stop. There was a little more excitement when a truck drifted into #70 cutting the front tire. The tire eventually went flat, which brought us back into the pits yet again. Over all things are going GREAT and the car is awesome. – 7.0 Joe

A crew of eight worked very hard for many hours to repair the severe damage caused by the loss of one rear end mounting bolt. Damage included (but not limited to) broken carbon fiber brake discs, rear end housing, driveshaft flange and exhaust system. The loose driveshaft also beat the hell out of the bottom of the car. The crew did an incredible job putting the car back on the track!

This photo is of the driveshaft where it meets the rear differential , maybe the 600hp were pushing through it is a little much, it ripped out of the coupler, where its bolted to the yoke on the rear differential, BMW's weird shit ! The car is a rocket ship, Joe put a new M5 / Daytona proto-type engine in it, took the Vanos (variable cam timing stuff) out of ... See Moreit, that’s what killed us last year, P3 on the grid ... for not going the full ½ hour in qualifying…..it starts tomorrow at 11am and we finish Sunday at noon, needless to say tomorrow will be a long day!

Hello all, Our race car Arnold was featured on Sacramento's channel 3 news today, he behaved during the close up interview and then performed with six other cars for some action filming over the jump. (see photo) Qualifying in the dark Mike Borkowski went OK for #70 Arnold with a 1:50.4 lap with 80 cars on the track it was difficult to find enough open space to let it all hang out...when the traffic finally cleared he went for it but the car had a problem with the driveshaft. earlier he went a 1:47.1 in practice. We Qualified # 3 in class and #6 overall. Randy Pobst smoked a fast 1:51.6 in the # 72 Weather Tech car for #4 in class and # 7 overall. The Fall-Line crew is working hard to get Arnold back in shape for our grueling challange " the 25 hours of Thunderhill"
Special thanks to Tom Herb for all the free BMW M3 parts we're borrowing (we will give them back when we're done).
Cheers, 7.0

The car is running great, No problems with the car's new features... Mike had a fast lap of 1:48 which is about 4 secs quicker than last years best. Looking forward to more testing tommorow morning, set to qualify at 4pm. Car should run a 1:46 with fresh/ sticky tires... stay tuned for updates soon! - 7.0 Joe
