So Cal Ride Day
By Uncle Ed Paulsen
This is the way we roll britches! Sure am glad
I moved back to sunny CA. This snow was actually pretty fun
for the first five miles or so. Once it got a little deeper
and the trail incline a little steeper it was game over. The
sadistic trail boss just kept pushing on and on. I had to
walk along side the bike for the last mile or so because I
just could not get any momentum up. We started at about 3000
feet at Lake Isabella, rode all single track up to the snowline
about 4500 feet, this picture was taken on a fire road going
up to about 7000 feet in the Sequoia national forest. The
ride back down the mountain was on a single track trail called
As good as it gets and I honestly could not add
to that description. Snow, icy rocks, freezing streams and
all, it truly was as good as it gets. Epic ride!
(This picture is not of me. Wish it was, but
I am pretty sure by the time we hit this snow depth I was
already doing the Fred Flintstone-outrigger-1st gear-Oh please-dear
god let this snow lighten up-I want to die now-mode!)
